National Children’s Day 2015

For the third successive year.  Abracadabra is eagerly supporting National Children’s Day UK.  On Sunday May 17th.  Schools, nurseries, daycare centres, farms, parks and nature reserves all over the country will be opening up their facilities to provide Children with the opportunity to participate in a plethora of exciting and inspiring activities, all centred around the most vital aspect of a rewarding, beneficial and fun-filled childhood, PLAY!

Not just swings, roundabouts and climbing frames, but mud, forests, horses, food, football, fabrics and gardens.  NCDUK passionately believes “play” in all its fantastic forms to be essential to a child’s healthy mental and physical well-being.

By allowing children to “play”, we afford them the freedom to follow their interests and take responsibility for their own learning, to use their indigenous instincts to absorb and  understand things about themselves, their surroundings and their friends independently from adults, to develop their coordination and teach themselves  skills that might well pass them by if they were only exposed to formal educational processes.

Please show your support by visiting NCDUK’s website, taking the time to read some of the fascinating information which explains, in detail, the importance of “play” as a concept and think of some original and creative ways you could become involved.  If you happen to be in charge of, or have extensive access to a local child care facility you could  be and intrinsic part of this enlightening project by planning an  hosting a special event, and have the chance to be officially recognised by NCDUK as a “Play Champion”!
