Miffy returns to AbracaDABra

Miffy, the world’s favourite little white bunny, was first launched over fifty years ago and her adventures are enjoyed in over 40 languages, through the books and television series. AbracaDABra! introduced her to radio in 2002.

We’re thrilled she’s back with all her family and friends, including Snuffy the little dog, Poppy the Pig, Boris the Bear and his girl friend, Barbara. The stories carry relevant and comforting messages for young children, who know and love them already but can explore them anew, through radio.

Renowned Dutch author and illustrator, Dick Bruna, who created her, told us, “What I like in radio is you leave so much room for imagination … you can make your own pictures if you just listen”.  Parents say daily listening encourages imagination, concentration, memory and, importantly, talking.  Children’s communication problems are a major concern and radio has a key role to play in the run up to The National Year of Speech Language & Communication planned for 2011 – 12.

Fans can join Miffy each day at 11.30 and 15.30 hrs, starting October 23rd.
