abracaDABra! has joined forces with community writers network ABCTales, in a ‘Stories for Children’ competition.
The ten best entries have been recorded for Easter holiday airing on abracaDABra! and overall winner, Catherine Eden, has received a Pure Evoke Flow digital radio for her story ‘Erwin and the Multicoloured Trousers’, which launches the series on Saturday April 3rd at 7 pm.
Award winning children’s author, Miriam Moss, who judged the competition, praised the high standard and said of the winning entry, “This ticked all the boxes for me: a well created world of charming, child-friendly characters, … pitched just right language-wise, and about friends overcoming obstacles together. Perfect”.
Tony Cook, director of ABCTales said “‘We were delighted with the quality of the submissions for this competition and so were the judges. It’s been a joy to work with AbracaDABra on this one and we hope to work together a lot more in the future. I think that everyone will love these stories on the radio”.
Director of abracaDABra!, Susan Stranks, says, “Daily stories, songs and music encourage children’s listening, talking, reading and writing and radio can share these in a friendly and cost-efficient way”
