*‘Alice’ is New Year's Treat!*
abracaDABra! is broadcasting Lewis Carroll’s classic story ‘Alice's Adventures in Wonderland’ as a New Year's Day treat.
We'll follow Alice on her journey into a strange and magical land where she encounters all kinds of curious creatures and characters. She has to mind her manners, as many are so easily offended and sometimes behave very badly indeed!
The chapters, intertwined with a range of music and song, will air as a three hour special at 10am and again at 5pm. The story is read by Peter Schofield and produced by the Serious Music Business. Read more here.
* Let’s Make Radio *
Children have created their own radio programmes for abracaDABra! at Brighton’s Jubilee Library.
The ‘Let’s Make Radio’ event for children aged five to ten years invited them to produce a special Halloween play ‘Sam’s Giant Pumpkin’, and to read their favourite stories and poems. Local author, Miriam Moss, gave a talk about making writing exciting, and read from her picture book, ‘The Snoops’.
The event was recorded by production company, Linkmultimedia and will be broadcast on abracaDABra! in the run up to Christmas. To read more, listen to the play and see some pictures of this exciting day, click here.
Miffy returns to radio this month on internet service, * AbracaDABra! *
Miffy, the world’s favourite little white bunny, was first launched over fifty years ago and her adventures are enjoyed in over 40 languages, through the books and television series. AbracaDABra! introduced her to radio in 2002.
We’re thrilled she’s back with all her family and friends, including Snuffy the little dog, Poppy the Pig, Boris the Bear and his girl friend, Barbara. The stories carry relevant and comforting messages for young children, who know and love them already but can explore them anew, through radio.
