Here at abracaDABra! we celebrate all kinds of music, stories and songs, including a rich variety of classical and light classical compositions.

As a stimulating start to the Spring, we are broadcasting every one of the works featured in the spectacular “Ten Pieces” showcase, produced by the BBC for primary and secondary schools.

Be sure to join us at 5pm every Sunday, when our popular weekend concerts will air each masterpiece in full, performed by a different world class conductor and orchestra.  Hear those sweet strings sing and soar. Leap and dance to that blaring brass. Whistle and warble to the warm woodwinds.  Shiver in awe as cymbals clash and relish the rumble of the timpani.

Why not imagine that you’re the maestro and direct hundreds of talented musicians from your very own bedroom.  A feast of virtual conducting is as fun and rewarding as a session on the air guitar.  So, practice beating time to every bar, see how many melodies you can memorize and improve with each performance.  Most importantly, let you ears do the looking!

A full schedule of the concerts can be viewed below and if you happen miss an evening broadcast, whatever you do don’t panic, or shout, or snap your baton in a fearful temper, for Abby and Dabby will conjure up a harmonious encore especially for you on Sunday morning at 11am!!
