Award winning children’s author, Miriam Moss, has recorded a selection of her stories for our ‘Read-along Radio’ series on abracaDABra!.

The stories feature another new furry companion, Smudge, and are for younger readers to enjoy alongside their parents. Each addresses some of the day-to-day concerns children encounter in life and how to solve them in a friendly and comforting way.

They will launch in mid September, with sessions scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 1pm.

Miriam says,

This is a really helpful and friendly way to share stories and encourage reading from an early age.” says Miriam. “Radio and books go so well together and I’m pleased to support Read-along Radio.

Amanda Halden, Senior Early years Officer at the National Literacy Trust, said,

Parents, grandparents, carers and early years professionals working in the home environment need access to lots of different resources in order to support the development of a child’s communication skills and literacy. High-quality, accessible radio designed for children can make a strong contribution to this and we welcome the launch of Read-along Radio”.
